“I was raised in the world of attar and refined my craft through French perfumery. Today, I bring these two worlds together transforming heritage, emotion and memory into fragrances that tell a story.”
-Perfumer Aljazi Alqahtani

How it all started
My olfactory journey began in childhood, surrounded by the rich and captivating world of fragrance. My father was an attar perfumer with an extraordinary instinct for scent, yet his career in the army meant that perfumery remained a deeply personal passion. He created fragrances for friends and family but never had the opportunity to share his artistry with the wider world.
Growing up, I watched him transform raw materials into something beautiful and full of emotion. Fragrance became more than something I loved—it became the language through which I understood memories, people and places. From an early age, I knew that I wanted to become a perfumer and continue the story he had begun.
My upbringing between Finland and the UAE also deeply shaped the way I experience fragrance. I grew up between two very different environments, each with its own scents, seasons, cultures and memories. Finland gave me an appreciation for nature, freshness and the beauty of simplicity, while life in the UAE immersed me in a culture where fragrance is an important part of everyday life, identity and self-expression. Being surrounded by this profound appreciation for perfume in the UAE ultimately strengthened my desire to pursue perfumery and turn my passion into a career.
I later studied French perfumery, refining the traditions I inherited through a new perspective and developing a style of my own. Maison Aljazi was born from the meeting of these worlds: my father’s legacy in the art of attar, the contrasting influences of my Finnish and UAE upbringing, and my own journey through French fragrance creation.
This house is my tribute to my father and to the dream he was never able to pursue fully. Through every fragrance, I carry his artistry beyond the circle of friends and family for whom he once created, while bringing my own memories and experiences into each composition—sharing our story with the world, one fragrance at a time.
